FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for Authors & Editors at IPRPD

A. General & Submission Process

1. How do I choose the right journal or section to submit to?

When submitting to IPRPD, ensure your manuscript fits the aims and scope of the journal/series you select. Check the submission guidelines for format, section titles, and any special issues.

2. How do I submit my manuscript?

You submit via the online submission system or via email as instructed on IPRPD’s “For Authors” page. Provide all required files (manuscript, title page, declarations, tables/figures) and fill in the metadata required.

3. What is the peer-review process?

Your manuscript undergoes a peer-review process. At IPRPD, you’ll typically see:

~initial checks (scope, format, ethics)

~peer review by 2 + independent experts

~editorial decision (accept, revise, reject)

~if accepted, production (proofing, typesetting)

Many publishers note that peer-review time varies, though efforts are made to be efficient. Your duty as an author is to respond to reviewer comments in a timely, professional and respectful manner.

4. How long does the review and publication process take?

Times vary widely depending on field, number of revisions, reviewer availability. IPRPD aims to process submissions efficiently and will provide authors with status updates.

5. What happens if my manuscript is rejected?

If rejected, you will receive feedback (where possible) and you may decide to revise and resubmit (if encouraged) or submit to another journal. Use the reviewers’ comments to improve the work.

6. What changes are allowed after publication?

Once an article is published in IPRPD, only very limited corrections may be possible (e.g., typographical errors) and any major changes follow our correction/retraction policy. It is hence important to submit a final and accurate version. (This follows broadly the practice of other publishers.)

B. Open Access, Licensing & Fees

7. What are the open access options at IPRPD?

IPRPD supports open access publishing: all articles are freely available to readers worldwide. Authors retain copyright according to our license agreement.

8. Are fee waivers or discounts available?

No waiver is applicable.

9. What rights do I retain as an author?

Upon acceptance, authors grant IPRPD the right to publish and host the article, but authors retain copyright and may distribute their article, depending on the license (e.g., Creative Commons Attribution).

10. Does IPRPD have institutional or partnership agreements?

Yes. Some institutions may have agreements with IPRPD that cover APCs or provide discounts for affiliated authors. If your institution has such an agreement, mention it during submission to ensure you benefit.

C. Ethics, Quality & Indexing

11. What ethical standards apply?

IPRPD follows rigorous ethics including guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). That means: no plagiarism, proper authorship attribution, conflict of interest disclosure, data integrity, and transparent peer review.

12. How is peer review handled?

IPRPD uses independent peer reviewers who are experts in the field. Our editors ensure fairness and minimise conflicts of interest. Reviewers’ reports are passed to authors and authors may respond to comments.

13. How is indexing handled and how does your article become visible?

Once published, IPRPD articles are assigned metadata and DOI, and we work to ensure indexing in major databases (depending on journal).

D. Author Support & Production

14. Will I receive a certificate or proof of publication?

Yes — after publication, authors will receive a digital publication certificate confirming publication in IPRPD. A final PDF proof will also typically be provided.

15. What support is available for manuscript preparation?

IPRPD provides author guidelines (formatting, structure, style), and may partner with author services (language editing, formatting assistance) for a fee or via preferred partners.

16. Can I track the status of my submission?

Yes — authors can log into our submission system to view status (submitted, under review, revisions requested, accepted). We aim to send regular email notifications at key stages: acknowledgement of submission, reviewer assignment, editor decision, proofs, publication.

17. What happens after acceptance?

Once your article is accepted:

     ~copyediting and typesetting

~proof sent to you for final approval

~article published online (often early-view) and assigned DOI

     ~indexing and dissemination start

~you are encouraged to share/promote your article for visibility.

18. How can I promote my article and increase its visibility?

After publication, authors are encouraged to:

~share the article link on social media, personal websites, institutional repositories

~deposit accepted version in institutional repository (if license allows)

~use plain-language summaries or visual abstracts if available

~cite the article in future work, engage with media/outreach.
